It’s that time of year again! Break out your camping gear, pack up the family, and head for the hills. Beaver Dam State Park is located in Lincoln County, about thirty miles, and an hour drive from Caliente. (see the enclosed map) We will be open at noon on Friday, and should wrap things up about noon on Sunday. Bring the entire family, and bring a friend.
Camping: We have booked the entire park for the weekend. Plenty of trailer spots for trailers up to 20’ in length. Lots of tent spaces. If we fill the existing trailer spots, there is an overflow area available to us. (Bring sun screen and bug spray)
Demos: Trapping demonstrations will be conducted by members of the association. If you would like to share techniques with us, please contact John Tibbetts at (775) 726-3655, or sign up when you get there.
Shooting: There will be both small and large bore categories. This will be held on Sunday morning. Bring your own guns and ammunition.
Lure Contest: Bring a small jar of your homemade scent.
Women’s Lure: Practice up on your culinary skills. Bring your all-time favorite creation, and a copy or two of the recipe. It will be judged just before dinner on Saturday evening.
Predator Calling: Bring your own calls. Three categories. Men, women, kids. Held Friday night
Other activities: Games, contests and fun for everyone. Horseshoe contests, scavenger hunt. Bring your fishing gear, as the beaver ponds in the creek are full of trout. (Nevada license and trout stamp required)

Welcome
We are glad to have you as our guest. The mission of the Utah Trappers Association is to promote our privilege of trapping in an ethical manner. It is the responsibility of us as trappers to do all that we can to help insure that our rich heritage of trapping will be passed on from one generation to the next.
We want this to be a fun web site as well as an informative one. Information will be provided on upcoming events as well as past events. Instruction on fur handling as well as humane sets will be included. The UTA feels it is important to place strong emphasis that the wildlife that we catch should be treated with the utmost respect. This respect begins before we ever set a trap and carries on in the pelt preparation and handling.
If you are not a member of the UTA or another state or national trapping organization, we strongly encourage you to do so. The future of trapping depends on strong state and national trapping organizations.
More people should take advantage of our Swap page. You can post a free add there for things you want to sell, trade or buy. Just email the info to me (include photos if you have them), and I'll get it posted as soon as I can.
