UTA Convention

Each year, we hold the convention the weekend following Labor Day at the Juab County Fairgrounds in Nephi. The convention is a great opportunity to enjoy each other's company, meet new people, and make new friends.

2026 Convention
The Utah Trappers Convention will be held September 11-12, 2026, at the Juab County Fair Grounds in Nephi, Utah. (400 W Center St, Nephi, UT.) Remember we will be in Building 15 (Recreation Building) instead of the horse arena.
Trapping supply vendors will be onsite, so plan to stock up on everything you will need for the upcoming season. Great line up of trapping demonstrations, demos are all day and cover a wide variety of species you can trap. The Convention is a great place to learn new techniques and meet fellow trappers in the state.
If you need trapping supplies, lures, learn new trapping techniques or want some UTA merchandise. This is the place for you! UTA merchandise will be available for purchase.

Activities
Bring the kids! We have some games and activities planned to get them excited to grow up to be a trapper!
Trappers Education Course
A Trappers Education Field Day will be available on Saturday. If you would like to participate in the class, please contact Kelly Laier (435) 979-2402 or [email protected]. You will have to be registered with the DWR and can sign up here.
UTA Banquet
The UTA will provide smoked pork, dinner rolls and drinks at the potluck banquet. We ask each family attending to bring their favorite salad, potato dish, baked beans, dessert, or whatever you would like.
UTA Awards Ceremony

The UTA awards are given to trappers/members who have helped promote trapping and the UTA. The awards given are UTA Hall of Fame, UTA Trapper of the Year, UTA Lady Trapper of the Year, and UTA Junior Trapper of the Year. Nominations for these awards are submitted from the membership and during the convention these prestigious awards are given.

Raffle
The raffle is the main fundraiser for the association. We encourage all members to do all you can to strengthen and support it. Cost of the UTA raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. Please sell the tickets we have sent you. If you would like more, let us know and we will send more.
The UTA Raffle prizes are:
1st Prize Savage Axis II 6.5 Creedmore (Donated by Brian Snyder)
2nd Prize 36 Inch Blackstone Griddle (Sponsored by Nielsen Arc Service)
3rd Prize 30 Quart Pelican Elite Cooler (Sponsored by Salina Creek Fabrication)
4th Prize 6 Person Core Cabin Tent
Every year we have a friendly competition amongst the trappers to see who sells the most raffle tickets. This year the prizes for the top raffle ticket sellers will be:
1st Place Winchester Lever Action 22 LR with engraved UTA Logo
2nd Place Vortex 10X42 Diamondback Binoculars
Everyone that sells over $100.00 in tickets will get one raffle ticket for every $100.00 in tickets they sell entered in a drawing for a pair of Vortex 10X42 Crossfire Binoculars.

Scholarship Gun Raffle
We will do the scholarship gun raffle again this year. Tickets cost $15 each. All proceeds from this raffle will go to our scholarship fund. This years gun will be: Savage Axis II 223 Remington with Bushnell Scope. (Donated by Brian Snyder)
